Dad thought he was just going to bring my cousin to the altar, but he was also asked to give a speech during the reception--surprise!surprise! Impromptu speech. I can't remember my dad getting so teary eyed, well, today he did. It was during the wishing Tito Tonga was alive to see his daughter's wedding, and how he was happy to see my cousin succeed bit. What moved me was how much dad cared, his goodness (listen to the soap-opera like life of the Verastigues and you'll know the depth of that statement), and of course that bit itself (the next part was about expat life and wishing them luck). In my entire life, I only saw Tito Tonga once but based on my dad's stories, I can tell he had lots of fond memories with him and that they were close. The knowledge of Jayne in very good hands intertwined with dad missing his brother must have been very overwhelming for him.
